Two balances. Two purposes.

Softphone Credit & Calling Charge

MyBroadcast credits open the dialer. Twilio balance pays the call minutes, number rental, and SMS. They are separate. You need both to place a call — one does not refill the other.

  • Softphone credit = dialer access
  • Calling charge = Twilio minutes
  • 1 call = 1 credit
  • 0% markup on Twilio
Softphone creditMyBroadcast — 1 incoming or outgoing call = 1 credit. Duration doesn’t matter.
Calling chargeTwilio — per-minute call charges, number rental, and SMS on your account.
Both requiredYou need softphone credit and a Twilio balance to use the calling service.

Why separate call credits?

Two Separate Balances – Two Different Purposes

Twilio balance is completely separate from MyBroadcast credits. You need both to use the calling service.

1. Twilio Balance (Your Account)

Used to pay for actual telecom services

  • Call minutes (per-minute charges)
  • Phone number rental
  • SMS and other Twilio services
2. MyBroadcast Credits (Extension)

Used to access the dialer

  • 1 incoming call = 1 credit
  • 1 outgoing call = 1 credit
  • Call duration doesn’t matter

Twilio balance is empty

Twilio will not connect the call, even if you have MyBroadcast credits left. Add funds in the Twilio Console.

MyBroadcast credits are used up

The softphone stops placing outbound calls and tells you the call limit has ended. Buy another pack, or switch to unlimited.

Both are topped up

You call normally. Twilio bills the minutes, and 1 credit is used per call. Neither payment fills the other balance.

What we are

A secure softphone on the Twilio account you already own.

We are not a second phone company. There is no new carrier, no number porting, and no reseller sitting between you and Twilio.

1

Direct to your Twilio

Connect with your Account SID. Calls and SMS go out on your Twilio project, from your Twilio numbers, with your Twilio settings.

2

Your credentials stay with you

Your Twilio keys live in the extension on your device. We never ask you to email tokens, and we do not hold your Twilio balance.

3

Twilio bills you directly

Every minute is on your own Twilio invoice at Twilio’s published rate. 0% markup, because the minutes never pass through us.

Telephony features

Everything you need to call, in the browser tab you already use.

Twilio gives you the network. MyBroadcast gives you the phone. Feature access depends on the plan you choose.

Click-to-call

Call any phone number on a web page with one click. No copy and paste.

Auto dialer

Work a contact list. When one call ends, the next one is ready.

Inbound & outbound calls

Make and receive calls in Chrome, and on the Android app.

SMS inbox

Text from your Twilio number and keep the replies in one inbox.

CRM context

See the contact beside the dialer, and keep calls next to the record.

Call history & reports

Recent calls, redial, and user-wise reports for the team.

Recording & voicemail

Record calls, take voicemail, and forward calls when you are away.

Caller ID & DND

Switch which Twilio number people see, and quiet inbound calls with Do Not Disturb.

Why it’s good for your business

Pay for the calls you make. Nothing that runs in the background.

0%

No markup on Twilio

Most cloud phones resell minutes with their own margin on top. Here, Twilio bills you directly at its own rate.

$0

No forced monthly fee

Pay-as-you-go packs have no recurring charge. Buy calls once and use them whenever you need. Monthly unlimited is optional.

∞

Credits never expire

A 1,000-call pack stays on your account until it is used, whether that takes a week or a year.

1

One plan, every user

Packs and the team plan cover unlimited users. Adding a teammate does not add a seat fee.

Why this extension matters

MyBroadcast vs other softphones.

Twilio alone has no ready-made phone for your team. Typical cloud softphones give you one, but on their own carrier and per seat.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

I already recharged Twilio. Why pay again?

The Twilio recharge pays Twilio for minutes and numbers. The Dialer purchase pays for calls through the softphone: 1 credit per call on a pack, or unlimited on a monthly plan. One payment does not fill the other.

Do Dialer credits make Twilio calls free?

No. Twilio still bills your account for the minutes of every call. A Dialer credit only counts the call on the softphone.

Is there a monthly charge?

Only if you choose a monthly plan. Pay-as-you-go packs have no recurring charge and never expire.

Is my Twilio account safe?

The softphone connects to your own Twilio account from your device. We do not ask you to email your Auth Token, and we do not hold your Twilio balance.

Can I use Twilio without this extension?

Yes. Twilio works with other apps or your own software. MyBroadcast is optional: a ready-made phone, so you do not have to build one.

Do I keep my phone numbers?

Yes. Your numbers stay on your Twilio account. There is nothing to port, and you can stop using the extension at any time.

Your Twilio. Your rates. A better phone.

Install free with 100 calls. When you need more, buy a pack once and use it at your own pace.
