SMS should leave from the same project you already pay for Voice. The Odoo Twilio module lets teams send messages from Odoo records on your Twilio Messaging number — not a second SMS reseller and not Odoo IAP credits as the only path.

Odoo can send SMS through Odoo IAP (in-app purchase credits). That is convenient and a different bill. Teams that already completed A2P / 10DLC or local registration on Twilio usually want those same numbers in ERP — not a second SMS brand.

What this is not
Not WhatsApp Business API management, not Twilio Studio campaigns, not a bulk-SMS blast tool that ignores opt-out. Transactional and one-to-one sales/support SMS from Odoo is the job.
You still need a Twilio number with Messaging and, in the US, a compliant A2P campaign. We do not file 10DLC for you.
Setup

Twilio number with Voice + Messaging if you want both Odoo calling and Odoo SMS.
2. Module
Install Odoo Twilio Calling System for your version.
3. Credentials
SID and token in Odoo. Same project as calling.
4. Send a test
From a test contact. Confirm the segment in Twilio Console.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send SMS from Odoo with Twilio?
Yes. The Odoo Twilio module uses your Twilio Messaging number. Twilio bills SMS. You must enable Messaging on the number and follow local registration rules.
Is this Odoo IAP SMS?
No. Odoo IAP is Odoo’s own credit pack. This path uses your Twilio account so Voice and SMS stay on one SID.
Do I need a separate SMS module?
SMS is part of the same Odoo Twilio module as calling. You do not buy a second MyBroadcast SMS SKU.
Does it replace Twilio Programmable Messaging?
No. Twilio remains the API. Odoo is the operator UI for sending from CRM/contacts.

Install the Odoo Twilio module, enable Messaging on the Twilio number, send from the contact in Odoo.
