Install Google Chrome on Windows 10 or Windows 11, then add the extension. The phone uses your Twilio number for caller ID and for inbound ringing. Windows can keep another browser as the default. Calls still happen in Chrome, because that is where the extension runs.
On a company PC, the Chrome Web Store may be limited by policy. An admin has to allow the extension before the softphone can install.
Set up the Twilio softphone on Windows
1. Open Chrome
Use Google Chrome on Windows 10 or Windows 11.
2. Add to Chrome
Install Twilio Auto Dialer & Softphone from the Chrome Web Store.
3. Microphone
Windows Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone. Allow desktop apps, and allow Chrome when it asks.
4. Twilio
Paste Account SID and Auth Token, choose your number, and place a test call.

Answer inbound calls on Windows
When your Twilio number routes voice to this client, Chrome shows the incoming call on the PC. Answer from the extension. The same number is the caller ID on outbound calls.
